With a budget of ₹75 crore (US$11.69 million), the film’s principal photography began in November 2014. Cinematography was handled by Aseem Mishra, and editing was done by Rameshwar S. Bhagat. The music score, composed by Julius Packiam, and the songs by Pritam, received praise for their contribution to the film’s emotional appeal.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan became a massive commercial success, grossing ₹918.18 crores globally, and became the highest-grossing Indian film of 2015. The film was celebrated for its heartwarming story, stellar performances, and cinematography, winning the National Film Award for Best Popular Film. A sequel is currently in development, with V. Vijayendra Prasad writing the script.
